Associates
Patient First, Patient Focused.
Where clinical excellence, innovation, and compassionate care converge.
Ontario Retina Associates is a subspecialty practice dedicated exclusively to medical and surgical diseases of the retina. Every patient is seen directly by Dr. Shah from their very first visit through to ongoing care. You receive a thorough consultation, a clear explanation of your condition, and a treatment plan built around your specific needs, delivered by the same board-certified, fellowship-trained retina specialist each time. At the heart of everything we do is a simple belief: patients deserve to feel seen, heard, and cared for as individuals - not seen as numbers.
Timely Access
New referrals are seen within 2 weeks. Urgent cases, where vision is at risk, are seen same day or within 24 hours. Every triage is personally reviewed by Dr. Shah.
Specialized Urgent Evaluation for Macular Disease
Patients with wet AMD, retinal vein occlusion, or diabetic macular edema are seen within 24-48 hours through our dedicated urgent pathway. Treatment is typically initiated at the very first visit, with no unnecessary delays. Dr. Shah is known for his meticulous, virtually painless injection technique.
Efficient Appointments
Your time is valuable. Whether you are attending a first consultation or returning for a routine injection, you should never have to wait hours to be seen. Most visits, from check-in to imaging to discharge, are completed within one hour.
Evidence-Based Care
Dr. Shah completed a dedicated research fellowship at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, one of the world's foremost retina centres, and remains an active clinician-researcher. Every treatment recommendation reflects the latest clinical evidence and emerging therapies.
Newly Renovated Clinic
A welcoming space with historic character and state-of-the-art retinal imaging and laser equipment — designed to make every visit feel calm, efficient, and modern. Free parking is available on site for all patients.
Your Surgeon, Every Visit
Given that we are a community-based retina practice without any medical trainees, every consultation, every injection, and every follow-up is personally performed by Dr. Shah - a fully licensed, fellowship-trained vitreoretinal surgeon. Consistent, expert care from the same trusted physician, every single time.
